Just like the artists, our work also helps to understand the world we live in, to inform, question, explain, encounter, encourage project creation, to stimulate creativity, to shape the world…  

Who are we? What do we do?

Since the KAMACUKA project has gone online, we have decided to add our contribution to translating the texts from French to English and English to French. We sometimes even take this a step further and complete the biographies or verify information.
 
Among our committee members, some have studied languages to be able to work in cooperation but have been unable (so far) to find work in that sector, so in order to maintain their knowledge, each week they give some time to KAMACUKA.  Others are professional translators with a sense of commitment to general interest projects. Others still are just beginning their careers and can include KAMACUKA among their references.

We have developed a glossary to use as a work tool to help us with the Caribbean terminology that arises daily, as an illustration of the vitality of the region’s languages.

The ambition behind KAMACUKA is to provide tools for understanding, discovery and exchange between the Caribbean islands.  Are you interested? Then come join us!

We are volunteers, committed citizens who give our time to support, encourage, and participate in the work of artists and other related professionals to enable them to continue in their own way to inform us about the world and how it is going.
Our aim is also to support and encourage exchanges across the region in order to promote better knowledge, understanding, encounters, and collaboration.
