Self-taught multi-instrumentalist from Marie-Galante, Christian Laviso was attracted by the traditional songs. He privileged the guitar. Very young, he perceived the need to mastery gwoka to exist. His style, unique, is a result of his assiduous contacts with gwoka players (Lin Canfrin Alexander Cornano, Blanchinot Kancel Guy Conquet), his encounters and his collaborations with jazz artists like David Murray and Kenny Garrett.
