Jean-Marc Césaire and his team created Ciné Woulé to offer an alternative to the flood of North American movies with a selection of art films or independently produced features with which Guadeloupians can identify and that also provide them with a view of other cultures. This itinerant cinema by Caribbean, Latin American, Afro-American, African and minority filmmakers living in the North has thrived for ten years. Its slogan is, “If you don’t go to the cinema, the cinema will come to you”.
