Description:

In order to promote contemporary playwriting in the Caribbean, to make new works or those never performed known to the public, and to promote encounters that enhance their creation, the association Textes en Paroles (TEP) offers writing workshops to help authors improve their texts with the help of critical advice.
Since 2003, over thirty texts have been selected and read by professional actors and have been heard by the general public and scholastic groups throughout Guadeloupe.

Since 2007, the association has developed its projects in live performance production and has achieved two theatrical pieces, Ida by Baka Ròklò (Guy Régis Jr) and L’Enfant by Marie-Thérèse Picard. In order to preserve the theatrical texts of Guadeloupe in a cultural heritage approach, TEP works actively with the Centre de Ressources Théâtrales Caribéen, founded in Guadeloupe in partnership with the Bettino-Lara Caribbean media library and inaugurated in 2008, as well as with the Caribbean collection of the Aneth resource centre in Paris, with which Textes en Paroles has signed partnership conventions and exchanges for the promotion of contemporary theatrical works.

Among its many references are, in 2007: Ida by (Guy Régis Junior) Baka Ròklò performed at L’Artchipel, the Scène Nationale de Guadeloupe and the Tarmac  – 2008: L’Enfant by Marie-Thérèse Picard, at the Sonis cultural centre, Guadeloupe.

With “Ecritures d’Îles”, a project developed within the INTERREG CARAIBES IV program, Textes en Paroles hopes to create synergies to help strengthen the network between the Caribbean islands to the benefit of the creative talent and live performance economies in each of the countries concerned.
